These are three Holstein steer calves we bought from our neighbor who is
a dairy farmer. They are about 12 weeks old in this picture. |
 |
Here's our latest calf. This little heifer was born on July 27th. |
 |
Here's another pic of our latest calf with her mother. This is our
first calf born to a cow that was born on our farm. The mother was
born in July of 1999. |
 |
Here's the first calf born on our farm this year. This little
heifer was born on July 9th. |
 |
This little bull (now a steer) was our second calf born, on July 10th. |
 |
Here's calf number two with her mama. |
 |
This is a sad picture. In the foreground is our third calf, a
little bull (now steer) that was born early on the morning of July
11th. It had a twin brother who did not survive, which is in the
background. |
 |
This is an even sadder picture. Here is the mother of the dead
twin, standing over him. It's been said that if you have livestock,
then you will sometimes have "dead stock" as well. It's
just sad when it happens, though. |
 |
Here's a happier picture of the surviving twin with his mother the next
day. The sunshine on their faces kind of remind us of God's grace to
them. |
 |
Here's our fourth calf that was also born on July 11th. This
little heifer is a cutie! |
 |
Hey, wait for me! This is calf number two following her mama. |
 |
Breakfast time! Here is calf number two enjoying an early morning
meal. |
