Brian's Thoughts on the Windows 95 Exam (70-64)
Lots of questions on NT and domain servers, and a lot of questions on TCP/IP. Know how to configure Win95 in a multiple of TCP/IP network situations. Know how to configure a dialup connection to the Internet using TCP/IP.
The Novell Netware questions still deal only with 3.12. Know that the Microsoft drivers, clients, etc. are all 32 bit and faster then the Novell 16 bit equivalents. Know that Windows 95 NDIS drivers are version 3.1
There weren't any questions on the Internet or Internet Explorer, other than connecting to the Internet.
Drivespace and configuring DOS apps still a big part of this exam. One question gave the contents of a config.sys and you had to choose the lines that were eating up memory and preventing a DOS app from running.
Nothing on Plug 'n Play, Exchange, Brief Case, or the User Interface!!
Plenty of questions on profiles and system policies: where they are stored on the server, how they work, etc.
Know your Win95 tools very well, like Net Watcher, System Monitor, etc.
They let you use a calculator on this exam, but I never needed it or saw any opportunity to use it.
