The Trip... |

From October to December of 1995, the Lilligren family lived in a tent trailer and traveled over 12,000 miles across the United States, from coast to coast. After living more than 12 very busy years in the inner city of Chicago, this trip provided an opportunity for each family member to become better acquainted with the other. We laughed together, cried together, prayed together, and experienced much of this great country together.
We visited Civil War battlefields, swam in two oceans and the gulf, stood in awe at the grandeur of the Grand Canyon, participated in "Mickey Mania," spent hours walking about the nation's capital, visited Independence Hall, went "crabbing" and visited shrimp boats in South Carolina (and Mississippi), went through the Hershey factory in Pennsylvania, experienced the mountains of northern New Mexico, the deserts of Arizona and California, caves of New Mexico, picked grapefruits and oranges in the Rio Grande, visited shops in Mexico, and saw the Alamo! These visits, and many more, await you as you relive this trip with us.
Completing this page will be quite a project. For now, it will be a "piecemeal" job. To follow our travels, simply click on the icon of one of the states listed below. Minnesota was our starting point, and the trip follows the state images from left to right, then from top to bottom.
Keep checking back as these page develop, and you will be able to read a journal of our travels and see a selection from the photos we took.
